Long time, no post...

Sorry for the somewhat extended absence, but my travel schedule has been making it difficult to find time to post.

On the upside of things, we have safely passed through our first ear infection! On the downside, we have developed our second ear infection. He had about three days of feeling well and then it started again. We have stronger antibiotics this time, and so we're hopeful that it will take care of the issue. Bottom line, ear infections are no fun for anyone.

Beyond the ear infection battle and my crazy schedule, not a lot is happening. When not sick, Gavin is just a fairly content child: full of smiles and laughs and a rather pleasant disposition.

He keeps getting right on the edge of rolling from his back to his stomach on his own, but that edge is proving to be mountainous. I have a sneaky feeling that one day, when no one is looking, he will just roll over as if he has always been doing it. But we are somewhat-committed to trying to capture that first back-to-front moment on video and so we wait, hope, and watch. Though, of course, once the "silver box" (the camera) comes out, Gavin either doesn't perform, which is the usual m.o., or he is too busy looking at and being distracted by "the box," so he stops what he is doing. In the end, however, I believe persistence and patience will win out.
