Pumpkin Patch

Our home computer broke several weeks ago, which hopefully explains the long delays between posts. But we finally purchased a new one! And so now I have several posts to add...starting with our trip to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm a couple of weeks ago (to pick pumpkins, not x-mas trees, as they were having a fall festival event).

The Tree Farm Pumpkinfest included tractor rides, face painting, and kid's games. As you can see from the photos, Gavin took advantage of them all. Though, to be fair, the first thing he noticed when we got there was an old Dodge Ram dooley hooked up to a horse trailer. Nevermind the pony rides, the giant scary "Charlotte" type spider on the fence, the hundreds of kids, the tractors, etc. It was the dooley that grab his interests. But, luckily, it was short lived...especially once we got on the hay-ride.

Movin on Up

The crib is down and the big boy bed has taken its place. Gavin calls it "his cars bed." His sleeping habits at night have improved slightly but are still very inconsistent. Some nights he sleeps all night; others he is very restless and up at least once if not more.

And now a few random shots from the playground.

Wedding Bells for Aunt Laura and Uncle Stuart

A warm and heartfelt Congratulations goes out to Laura and Stuart on their recent marriage! Welcome to the family, Stuart! We love you both!

The day was perfect. Warm weather, beautiful flowers and decorations, great food and drinks, and lots of family and friends to celebrate with Laura and Stuart.

I only have a few pics to post as I forgot to bring the camera that day (bad mom, I know). I'm hoping the professional photographer will have a couple pictures of Gavin in his tux that I can post later. If anyone has any, please email them to us. We would love to see them.

After all of the wedding activities ended, Gavin and I were able to spend a week at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We enjoyed the cool weather and the brief hint of fall in the air; something we won't see in Austin for quite some time. Gavin's favorite activity this time was picking tomatoes. He doesn't like to eat them, but he had a blast picking them.

Koopa Troopa

Playing with the cars from Uncle Travis, Aunt Sherry and Reid. Gavin likes to ask who is riding in the cars and where they are going. Here is a snippet of tonight's adventures.

The Bean is 2!

We had a great time celebrating Gavin's birthday on Wednesday. Justin came home from work early and we started the party off with a Thomas the Train themed cake. Gavin loved it. His first responses were "can I have that thomas" and "does thomas's wheels work?"

After eating cake (and trying to get all of the blue icing cleaned up), we headed upstairs to the toy area to open presents. It was a mini-christmas for Gavin! He opened the first gift, a car transporter truck for his matchbox cars, and proceeded to play with it for awhile on his table. After a few minutes, we asked if he was ready to open another present. His response: "ok." The next gift, a new set of matchbox cars. Back to the table to play with these cars for a few minutes. We ask again: "Do you want to open another present?" His response: "ok." Finally after the third present, he got the idea and wanted to open the rest of them. Of course after the last present was opened he said "more presents to open?" Each day since then he asks if there are any more presents to open!

Thank you to everyone for the cards, gifts, and birthday wishes.
