My first blog post

Oh my, where has the time gone? It has been almost two months since our last post. I guess our pseudo management change hasn’t worked out so well J So, I’ve decided to take the plunge and write my first blog post. Bear with me…

Gavin continues to be on the go. If the sun is shining, he wants to “go outside.” Luckily the weather has been cooperative and we spend most afternoons playing at the park or taking a walk. He no longer wants to ride in the stroller; he wants to push it. So we can be seen walking down the street with Gavin pushing and me steering.

His other new favorite activity is watching the Disney movie Cars. He knows the names of all of the characters. He will also tell you which part he wants to watch. Right now, his favorite is the scene where Sally and Lightning go for a drive. He calls it “watch Sally race.”

Gavin has also reached the stage where he is trying to repeat everything you say. This has been very fun and dangerous! I wanted to share with you this recent video. Justin is teaching him how to say “Rhetorics” and “Epistemology.” Enjoy!

Pseudo Management Change

Given the difficulties in finding time to do all the uploading and video work with our blog, we are currently under going a bit of restructuring. While Nikki has yet to agree to run the blog in full, she has agreed to upload these little blurbs I write along with accompanying photos that she thinks you all might like. While this means there will be fewer videos posted, it should mean that we get back to a more regular posting schedule (as 2 in December and 1 in January seems a bit less often than most of you might prefer).

We are nearing a full set of teeth. We walk/run everywhere—except when choosing to crawl, which, as many of you know, we didn't learn until well after we were walking. We most recently acquired a large dump truck that can also be ridden, and this has taken hold of our interest—along with the computer and the Kids-on-Demand tv channel options. We occasionally sleep all through the night, but for the most part we still like to wake up once or twice (I think to make sure he isn't missing anything).

Our latest game of choice involves rolling wiffle balls down the steps and trying to land them in objects at the bottom (bags, shoes, etc.)—kind of like Plinko, but without the pegs and the money-oriented prize. This is a fun game, until Mom's/Dad's 10th trip down the steps to retrieve the balls, at which point it feels a little more like work than fun.

Anyways, we have a round or two of visitors coming in soon, and I'm sure we'll have more photos and news coinciding with these visits. In the meantime, we hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy the photos!

Long Overdue

The much anticipated, long overdue, first post of the 2010 year is finally here. I have included 5 videos. Videos 1, 2, & 3 are image montages from our various Christmas endeavors (1 is with my family, 2 with Nikki's, and 3 at the Kruzan's). Video 4 is, well, it speaks for itself. And video 5 is a piece of soon-to-be classic video memorabilia--the kind of video footage that lives on forever; it is a brief snippet of "I want you to want me" by the Crackerneck Road Wii Musicians. Enjoy! And we hope everyone is having a Happy New Year!

(Note: The last two videos are wide screen, and may view better on YouTube)

A temporary update...

Sorry for the long absence in posts, but with the end of the semester coupled with the holidays, I have simply been unable to update the blog. However, I have several nice images and/or video clips from this current trip home and hopefully early in January I will be able to upload some fun items. But first, we shall ring in the new year. To everyone we will be unable to spend New Year's Eve with, we wish you the happiest of New Year's!!!

Stay tuned for more on the Gavin Adventures!
