Justin was testing out some video equipment for work (hd camera, lighting equipment, boom mic, etc.) and he asked Gavin to be his "performative subject." This is a snippet of what Gavin provided . . . a short "song" he picked up at the library at story time.

Gavin's First Haircut

Yes, that is correct, Gavin's FIRST haircut. As you can see from the pictures below, he was not too happy about the event. He did settle down once the hairdresser started using the clippers.

An overdue "diddy" from our trip home during the holidays. Hope you enjoy this little number from Gavin--a song he just made up on the spot, as he went, and which was followed by a week or more of him singing it when he could, when prompted, or whenever Pa Pa Joe tried to play with the trains.

Pumpkins and Vampires

Pumpkin Patch

Our home computer broke several weeks ago, which hopefully explains the long delays between posts. But we finally purchased a new one! And so now I have several posts to add...starting with our trip to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm a couple of weeks ago (to pick pumpkins, not x-mas trees, as they were having a fall festival event).

The Tree Farm Pumpkinfest included tractor rides, face painting, and kid's games. As you can see from the photos, Gavin took advantage of them all. Though, to be fair, the first thing he noticed when we got there was an old Dodge Ram dooley hooked up to a horse trailer. Nevermind the pony rides, the giant scary "Charlotte" type spider on the fence, the hundreds of kids, the tractors, etc. It was the dooley that grab his interests. But, luckily, it was short lived...especially once we got on the hay-ride.
